About Miss Erika

Erika Kennedy is the founder and director of Osa Dance Academy, where she blends her lifelong love of dance with a deep passion for empowering young dancers.  With 20 years experience as an instructor, Choreographer, and studio leader, Erika is dedicated to creating a joyful, supportive, and high-quality dance education experience for every child who walks through the door.

Her teaching philosophy centers on confidence, creativity, and strong technique.  Erika believes that dance should not only develop skill, strength, and discipline - but also spark joy, build self-esteem, and foster a sense of community.

Known for her warm approach and her ability to bring out the best in her students.  Erika has built Osa Dance Academy into a space where children feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to grow.  Her commitment to excellence, combined with genuine care for each dancer, guides the heart of the academy.

When she's not teaching, Erika can be found adventuring with her husband and their two young sons - releasing baby turtles, jumping off waterfalls, and catching waves along Costa Rica's beautiful coast.

Abby Orozco, CR

My (5 yr old) son looks forward to acro with Miss Erika every week! He has learned a handstand, somersault, and more!  His body awareness and balance has grown so much.  Erika is such an amazing teacher and gives the perfect verbal cues to assist them in learning new maneuvers.  Each skill she teaches builds upon the last instilling safety and confidence in the children.  Erika is so purposeful with creating an atmosphere for learning, she mitigates distractions and even encourages parents to drop off their kids for optimal focus for the children.  My son has learned more than just acrobatics.  He has learned about respecting other children, following directions, singing songs in Spanish, waiting his turn, and the importance of encouraging others.  I can't wait to send my two younger children to Miss Erika's dance classes when they're ready.
